Hi. My name is Patrick, but some of my friends call me Tricky P. I am an independent technology consultant, offering web design, development, hosting, and a full range of technical support services. I have spent the past 8 years doing technical application and desktop support in the financial sector. Working on huge trading floors in San Francisco and New York, I've seen it all. Hardware failures, network outages, security patches, OS rebuilds, and endless upgrades - it was all in a day's work. Every day was an adventure, every client worth millions, and every issue an emergency.
The years in support taught me a great deal.
For one thing, I have learned how to think on my feet and how to
troubleshoot creatively. I also know the importance of planning when it comes to
technology. There is often a quick way to do things, but making the right decisions during the planning phase,
keeping the future in sight by adhering to standards and best practices, and building efficiencies into your design are the best ways to maximize the return on
your investment. One other important lesson that I have learned is that you should always read the manual. Seriously.
Recently, I relocated to Los Angeles. Since leaving my job in New York behind, I have decided to continue my support career as an independent consultant, while pursuing my passion for web design and development. Today I help individuals and businesses with their technology needs. Whether designing a web site for a small business, implementing an ecommerce solution, or just helping a friend pick out a new TV, I approach every technology challenge with the vision and knowledge that only comes with years of experience 'in the trenches.'
